Edit: I realize you prefer Japanese instruments. The Guzheng can likely stand-in for the Japanese koto. The Erhu is used in Japan occasionally afaik. Not sure about the others. They can't replace the sound of a shakuhachi for sure, but maybe some other Japanese flutes. World Instruments is a unique, comprehensive sound library featuring more than 350 virtual software instruments from around the world. From traditional Chinese orchestras to Gamelan ensembles, from Taiko groups to Bollywood bands, Garritan World Instruments gives you the tools to add exotic sounds to your music.

Bamboo Flute Samples
The Shakuhachi is an ancient Chinese bamboo flute that was later introduced to Japan, with a distinctive warm body and thick harmonic character. We've wrapped it up into an awesome playable virtual instrument sample library for you to enjoy, absolutely free! Handy tip - layer up the static sustained notes with a staccato articulation, delay the static track by 50-100ms and allow the classic Shakuhachi articulations to shine through and add character!
